1948 - Thomas M. Lucas opened a
Desoto Plymouth Auto Dealership in Stockton, California

1951- Auto Parts Division opened on El Dorado St. Stockton, California

1952 - Automotive Service Department opened. Cars were simple then!

1963 - The now Chrysler Plymouth Dealership was sold and the young Tom Lucas (these days affectionately called Senior) continued his career in the automotive industry accepting a position with a large wholesale auto parts company (Chanslor & Lyon Co.) |
1977 - Tom Lucas Senior founded his own Auto Part business “Auto Life Parts” on Crows Landing Road in Modesto, California. Continued growth created the need for expansion and the original 2,500sq ft expanded to 5,000sq ft in 1978 and 10,000sq ft in 1997

1997- Auto Life broadens its product offerings with a token of ‘SPORTING GOODS” and within 2 years the “SPORTING GOODS” business had exploded. Completely out of space to warehouse all the new inventories, the search for a bigger facility began.

2002 - Auto Life moves into its present facility on Carpenter Road & Kansas Ave. Modesto, California. The new modern 37,000 sq ft facility proudly still maintains its Auto Parts business ( the oldest same owner Auto Parts Store in Central California ) along with Vintage, High Performance, 4X4, Truck, Marine, Farm and Industrial Supplies.
The addition of Sporting Goods in 1997 has grown Auto Life to the largest Hunting, Fishing. Gun & Shooting Sports store in Northern California.
Our slogan “We do it all Outdoors, it’s a family tradition” continues to drive us to offer more and more of what you do outdoors. BBQ, Backyard Play Sets, Water Sports and much more; and that won’t be the end of it as we will bring more fun things to you in the future. |
